In what only be described as unexpected Crain's Insider is reporting that the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, by a 44%-33% margin, has stated its opposition to a Wal-Mart in the borough. We say unexpected only because NYC chambers have historically refrained from taking any anti-development position.
What this means is that the opposition to the Walmonster keeps getting larger and more diverse. We can't wait to see the next Mama Mia poll on how folks just love the retail giant. It doesn't seem fair but the putative will of the people may be something manufactured (perhaps in China).
